Category: Best Support to a Technology Business – the winner was Anita Brook and Accounts Assist for her innovative accounting service aimed at smaller businesses.

The Judges chose the winner as they were impressed by the way new technology was being used to create streamlined and cost effective support to businesses and to recognise the innovative franchising business model.

 

Category: Best development of Sustainable Technology in a Business - the winner was Shelia Docker and H2GoGo for their development of the hydrogen based fuel scavenging system which improve engine efficiency and reduces emissions .

The Judges chose the winner to recognise the use of new technology to provide solutions to existing equipment and offer ways to enhance the current performance of vehicles.

 

Category: Best Collaboration between Education and a Technology Business - the winner chosen was Chris Wildsmith of Kinetic.

The Judges chose the winner to as they were impressed by the way that this business grew out of a College incubator and its success was built on the continuing the use of knowledge transfer and the skills of new graduates. The winner of the Best Collaboration between Education and a Technology Business is Kinetic.

 

Category: Best Development of Technology in a Start up or SME Company - the winner was Paul Sherring of Neonight Lighting (a new start up company developing innovative electroluminescence technology for safety and hazard warning lights for cyclists).

The winner was selected for the way the application showed attention to both the technology and commercialisation of a new product and the winning Company demonstrated a fully market-ready new product.

 

Category: Best Technology Innovation in a Business – the winner was Tim Usher MD of Lightsout Computer Services.

The Judges chose the winner to recognise the very clever use and integration of software GPS and mobile technology to bring an impressive new service to a very traditional industry while also producing real commercial impact and better operating practice. Anything that minimises holes in the street must be welcomed!

 

Category: Young Technology Entrepreneur - the winner was Dan Hyman MD of StudioWorx (a fast growing CAD services Company providing technical expertise and specialised training).

The Judges chose Dan Hyman as the Young Technology Entrepreneur to recognise Studioworx’s new approach to working with Customers, their innovative use of design software and CAD technology to simplify technical requirements and also for their targeted support for education and training of young designers.

 

Category: Technology Entrepreneur - the winner was Andrew Sheldon MD of Evidence Talks (a fast growing Company providing data forensics and remote access technologies for security and crime detection)

The Judges selected Andy Sheldon as the Technology Entrepreneur to recognise the innovative use of complex software and IT technology, the successful commercialisation of a business in a specialised sector and the commercial recognition and endorsement reflected in the recent alliance with DELL Computers"

 

Category: Overall Winner of the Bright SPARC Awards 2010 Winner - Tim Usher of Lightsout Computer Services for their development of software based planning tool for the utilities sector, promoting efficiencies and reducing time on site.

The Judges were impressed by the range of applications for this year's awards and the quality and diversity of the winners says a lot about the health of innovation in this area.

The Judges chose the deserved winner to recognise the development of new technology to provide solutions to one of the most traditional of industries producing cost savings, ensuring better use of resources, and setting a new standard for site working.
